People Are Stupid, Part 1

In a recent Pew poll, it was discovered that 10% of American voters believe Barack Obama is Muslim.  And sadly, this idea persists across party lines.  Fourteen percent of Republicans, 10 percent of Democrats and 8 percent of independents think Obama is Muslim, while just over half of each group correctly identified him as Christian, and a third stated they didn’t know his religion (and this is despite all the recent controversy over his former United Church of Christ - Christ, for God’s sake - pastor - not Imam - Jeremiah Wright.

The Pew Research Center poll was conducted March 19-22, and involved telephone interviews with 1,503 adults, including 618 Democratic and Democratic-leaning registered voters. You can read more here.
