Goodbye to "My Notepad" on the Main Page

I loved my notepad.  It was a way for visitors to leave instant feedback or notes on "One Thing I know" without having to go through the process of leaving a comment.  The writing on the Notepad (A Google Gadget) often took on a life of its own as well.  For instance the most recent scribblings were as follows:

Time for a new topic …

I don’t remember that there was a topic before …

It was on Lent and then veered far away from it.

We could discuss those tacky religious products.  The doggie nativity set is so tacky I actually kind of want to buy it.

Unfortunately "Jott," the blogging tool I used today, did not do a very good job of transcribing the posts I made via my cell phone.  I have since updated all of the Jott entries to make them closer to what I actually said.

Yikes, Jott is Nott too Hott.  

Funny, very funny.  That should have been the title of my post : )

Or you could have used "What Hath Jott Wrought?"  –sounds sort of pastor like

I should let y’all write my headlines for me.  My next post is on why ministers/pastors lose their way.  What title do you suggest?

Umm… Hittin’ a Bump on the Road to Glory?

It was a neat gadget, but lately this gadget has been giving my blog some trouble.  For one thing, almost every night this past few weeks, it has refused to load.  All I get at certain times is an error message.  At other times, it is taking a an inordinately long time to load, which causes some browsers to actually time out and not be able to load my blog at all.  Even now on my friend Julie’s blog, her notepad (which she calls a whiteboard) is still not loaded and it has been over 8 minutes since I pointed my browser there.  While the rest of her blog is there, my browser is still working on pulling up the whiteboard from infinityis.rahga.com (it’s now over 10 minutes…what can I say I write slowly).  It may have also contributed to my blog’s outage on Wednesday (which took up an inordinately long piece of my time to resolve).

So for now my fun and beloved notepad is exiled from my front page.  It can still be found on the "Contact" page, and who knows I may even give it its own page.  But until it starts working better, more efficiently and more reliably, you will not find it in my sidebar I am saddened to say.
